Emphasizing the recent surge in off-season Halloween popularity thanks to what customers call the “monster craze” sweeping the nation following dozens of sexual assault allegations against powerful men, Party City franchisee Jeff Krüger told reporters Monday his store sold out of Steve Wynn Halloween masks just hours after allegations surfaced against the casino real estate king. “I thought Harvey Weinstein would remain the top seller because of his nose, but I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Krüger, adding that the horrific melting look of Wynn’s face made the mask an instant hit with customers. “It’s truly incredible to see such a rapturous response to the masks and to the look of Steve Wynn, whose real last name is actually Weinberg, by the way. A lot of people don’t know that.” After the press conference, police forcibly removed Krüger from his own store for berating a mother and son purchasing fake payot.
